The St. Tammany Elder Abuse Support Team was developed with a grant from the Administration on Aging, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as part of the Elder Justice Community Collaborations project, and is administered for the National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) by the National Committee for the Prevention of Elder Abuse. The grant was one of twelve awarded to agencies in California, Florida, Maryland, Montana, North Carolina, Ohio, Washington, and Wisconsin.
The $10,000 grant was used to develop a multi-disciplinary elder justice network in support of Elderly Protective Services and victims of Elder Abuse. The grant was awarded in November of 2009, and ended on May 31st, 2010.
The St. Tammany SALT Council is the lead agency for the grant, and will continue in that role when the grant concludes
